Maggie Leighly, RLA

Landscape Architect

Maggie has over 15 years experience in both the private and public sectors as well as an array of technical and intellectual pursuits. In addition to working as a landscape architect, Maggie studied horticulture and fine arts. Following her passion for urban trees and a sustainable landscape she continues to expand and share her knowledge on green infrastructure in summer-dry climates, soil health, urban trees, plants and their nature, maintenance and cultural requirements. Maggie never misses an opportunity to encourage everyone to learn more about trees.

Maggie served two terms as a member of El Cerrito’s Design Review Board and has been a landscape consultant for the city’s planning department.  As a consultant, she reviewed site drawings for WELO compliance, planting design, plant selection, site design and grading, and wrote detailed comments for the department planners and applicants. Maggie comments, “I appreciate more the hard work that city planners do after seeing them in action.”
