Daly City, California 

A massive retail hub of over 80 acres of retail space, Serramonte Center houses Daly City’s largest collection of stores. Its modernization opened the door for the landscape architecture design team to enhance the outdoor environment, improve the pedestrian experience, and beautify the landscape. Interactive play elements, an outdoor living room, and flexible open space to accommodate various events are designed to allow for lounging, passive recreation, and a more pedestrian-oriented environment. Lush and vibrant colors and textures in both soft and hard landscape elements provide year-round visual interest, consistent with the center’s vision of seasonality.
