What’s New Projects

San Pablo Police Department HQ and Training Facility

Working with a multi-disciplinary team, Merrill Morris Partners is developing construction documents for the City of San Pablo’s new Police Services Headquarters Building. Having outgrown their current building, the new 42,000 sf, two-story facility will house the City’s police personnel and support staff, with a new state-of-the-art interactive training center.  Situated adjacent to the new City Hall, Wildcat Creek and public trail, the building will thoughtfully contribute to San Pablo’s growing civic campus.
Through this Design/Build effort, Merrill Morris Partners is transforming a barren lot into a secure, highly functional parking facility that will service the new building. Several parking spaces will accommodate electric vehicle charging, and self-treating stormwater basins will integrate with the parking lot to capture and treat stormwater before releasing naturally cleaned water into the stormwater system.  A variety of trees will contribute to the City’s urban forest canopy, mitigating harsh heat island effects. Lush, climate-appropriate planting will meld with the campus, providing a welcoming experience for the community and civic personnel.  Additional green infrastructure includes vegetated screens mounted to portions of the façade, further enhancing the architectural and campus experience while offering cooling effects - both inside and outside. The project is expected to achieve a LEED® Silver rating when completed in February of 2025.
