Located on 1.75 acres in the quaint town of Mill Valley, in Marin County, this project is a collaborative partnership between the city, the community and EHA Housing to build, operate and a maintain a new 4-story building containing approximately 45 units of affordable housing nestled into a site constrained by topography and adjacent public services, a fire station and police station, along with a neighborhood park. 

The project features a community room and exterior amenity deck complete with a soft surface with sculptural net-play element for kids and hard surface with a colorful selection of tables and chairs adjacent to an outdoor kitchen, set atop a podium which includes parking, building entry lobby, bike room and building services.

MMP carefully crafted a landscape design concept that celebrates the agricultural richness of Marin County, using pattern and texture and specially selected tree species at various entry nodes to the property and at the building entry. The plant palette was coordinated to be native, drought-tolerant and with specific attention to fire prevention in conjunction with FireSafe Marin.
